ルンバを改造できるキット「クリエイト」を出荷へ セールスオンデマンド

◆米アイ・ロボット社の掃除ロボット「ルンバ」を国内で販売するセールスオンデマンドの木幡民夫社長は、独自のプログラミングによってルンバを改造できるキット「クリエイト」を、要望が多い大学や一部企業へ向けて出荷する考えがあることを明らかにしました。

　米国などではすでに、ルンバベースにして改造して楽しんでいる人たちが多くいます。日本では、そうした需要への対応はまだ整っていませんでしたが、今後は新たな需要を開拓していきたいといいます。

　提供価格は１キットあたり２～３万円で、自らプログラミングして組み立てるというものです。

　Youtubeでは、改造ルンバを楽しんでいる海外の動画像（下）も公開されています。



◆また木幡社長は、日本発の開発ロボットを商品化するための市場調査を今夏から開始するとも語っていました。

　ルンバは今年度、日本では２万5000台を販売できる見込みで、2008年度は５万台という目標を掲げています。これらの数字は米国を除くと世界トップで、市場の大きさがうかがえます。

　日本市場ではまた、このところ30代のユーザーが急増しているうえ、バッテリーの販売個数も急増するなど、ルンバを一端購入した人たちが継続して使用していることを裏付けているようです。
