◆神戸市立青少年科学館（神戸市中央区港島中町）が、3月5日（日）、
午前10時30分～午後4時30分まで、同科学館4階の「理科実験室」で、
「第18回親子ロボット工作教室」を開きます。

　パソコンで動きをプログラミングできる自走式ロボットの小型「梵天
丸」を、午前中に親子で組み立てて、午後からはプログラミングと簡単
な競技会が行われます。

　これは同科学館の「こうべロボットスクール」の活動の一環で、親子
ロボット工作教室のほかに、ロボコンジュニアなどを実施しています。
いずれも次代を担う子どもたちに科学技術に興味を持ってもらうことを
目的にしているそうです。

◆工作教室の参加対象は小学4年生から中学3年生の子どもとその保護者。
参加費は5000円（キット代）で、自宅で「梵天丸」をプログラミングす
るには、別途「ROMライタ」が必要だといいますが、教室終了後に希望
者に販売しているそうです（2500円）。

　定員は親子15組で、開催日の2週間前までに、往復はがきで同科学館
に申し込む必要があります。

◆「こうべロボットスクール」は、科学者や技術者、学校関係者、保護
者、地域住民など専門分野のボランティアで運営されています。
　「親子ロボット工作教室」「ロボコンジュニア」の開催やボランティ
ア講師の養成、メカトロニクス教授法の研究、ロボットに関する教材の
研究、ロボットの普及・開発などに取り組んでいるといいます。
