京大と自律型セル生産ロボットシステムの共同開発で提携本格化 三菱電機

◆三菱電機と京都大学が、2008年９月25日、自律型セル生産ロボットシステムの共同開発で05年から進めてきた提携を本格化させると発表しました。
　３年以内に部品点数が20-30点のDVDデッキのような電気製品の組み立てを可能にする計画です。
　ただシステムの事業化や生産ラインへの導入については未定だといいます。


自律型セル生産ロボットに動作を教えながら動かしている

　このところ生産ラインで主流になりつつあるセル生産のロボット化は、生産機種を切り替えるたびに「動作プログラム作成に時間がかかり、ロボットに動作を教えるのが面倒だった」といった大きな課題がありました。



　今回の提携強化によって、ロボットに動作を教える「動作教示」を従来の３分２程度に短縮することを目指しています。
　計画では2011年までに、たとえばDVDデッキなど、ロボットセル生産に適した部品点数20-30点程度の電気製品の組み立てを可能にしたい、といいます。

◆25日公開されたセル生産ロボットは、三つ指でチップを穴に差し込む作業を見せてくれました。
　確実に穴に挿入するには、人間の作業者があらかじめティーチングマシンという操作盤で設定する必要があります。
　その設定時間の短縮が、今回の研究・開発の最も大きなテーマです。

◆ロボットには、センシング、センサ情報処理、行動計画（動作教示など）、運動制御、ハンドリングといった基礎技術が求められます。
　このうち三菱電機は３次元センシング、画像認識、力覚制御、多用途ハンドなどのノウハウを持っています。

　一方京都大学は、動作教示支援、エラーリカバリー（エラーからの自律復帰）、ハンド設計技術などのノウハウを持っています。

　それぞれのノウハウを補完しあうことで、システムの実用化開発を進め、生産ラインへの適用と事業化を推し進めることになっています。

◆多品種少量生産のニーズに応じて生産現場では、１人の人間がひとつの製品を作るセル生産が主流になっています。
　ところがこれをロボットに置き換えることで、熟練工の退職や少子高齢化に伴う就業人口の減少に対応する動きが目立っています。

　自律型セル生産ロボットシステムは、そうした社会問題に対応し、効率的な生産システムを構築していくことが可能になる、と見られています。
