◆大阪・堂島の三菱電機関西支社で、2008年６月13日まで開催されている「三菱電機グループ総合展示会 2008 in 関西」で、持ち運びできてカスタマイズ可能な三菱電機特機システムの情報収集ロボットなど、三菱電機グループの技術を集めたロボ ットの実演が行われています。



　小型クローラ移動ロボット「FRIGO-M」は、総務省と消防庁消防大学校、消防研究センターが開発した「FRIGO」を基盤に、三菱電機特機システムが共同で開発、実用化したものです。

　2007年後半から全国３ヵ所の消防本部や放送局に試験導入されており、放送局ではカメラマンが近づけない場所でのカメラ撮影に役立てられています。

　もともとはガス漏れや化学災害の現場でのガス検知やテロ現場でのガス検知、床下点検などを想定して開発されたものです。
　そのため防水を施しているなど、様々な現場での利用に対応しています。全長は約450mm、幅が約360mm、高さ260mm、重さも約15kg(バッテリー含む)と小型で軽量なのが特徴です。
　人が１人で現場まで持ち運ぶことが出来ます。



　現場ではパソコンで無線操縦による遠隔操作し、映像やセンサーで計測した情報をリアルタイムに転送して情報を収集します。
　放送局が取材用カメラを搭載して撮影に利用しているように、用途に応じてカスタマイズできるのも特徴。

　FRIGO-Mは平地での最高時速４kmで走行し、50mm以上の段差も乗り越えられます。
　また、40度以上の坂道も登ることが可能だといいます。
　電源には充電式ニッケル水素電池を４パックを搭載し、平地ならば何も積まない状態で１時間以上連続走行できるそうです。



◆会場ではまた、総合警備保障（ALSOK）の警備ロボット「Reborg-Q （リボーグキュー）」も展示されていました。
　Reborg-Qからは三菱電機のグループ会社である三菱電機特機システムが製作を担当していることもあって、展示会にやって来たそうです。

　編集長が行ったときには、あいにくの昼食（充電）中で、動いてくれませんでしたが、同タイプは４台が配備されています。初代からの累計では11台が現場で活躍しているといいます。
　ちなみに１台の利用料金は月額38万円だとか。
